Alaska Cruise July 23-August1
We started our Cruise to Alaska on July 23. We stayed in Seattle on the 23rd the day before our departure on the 24th. The first 2 pages of photos are of the Seattle area. Except for the first 2 photos. They are the Harrisburg airport. Pretty calm. Starting on page 4, this is the part where we are on the Celebrity Solstice cruise ship. It is docked in the Puget Sound. Time now about 3pm. First shots are of our cabin. Not to bad. We had a balcony. Next on pages 5-8 were of speakers they had. The first was from a female that was very versed in the culture of Ketchikan. And the second was from a guy from National Geographic talking about whales and other mammals. He was very good. Then the next set of photos was from the town of Ketchikan. It is a small town but very nice. Next set is from the tour we went on by boat to the Misty Fjords. There we went through Tracy Arm and the Stephens Passage to the Sawyer Glacier. Along the way there were many waterfalls and icebergs. Which was pretty neat to see. Most photos were shot through a window in the tour boat. But the last few were taken from outside the boat. Photo number 400 is of the Mendenhall Glacier. We went on a tour to see it. It was raining again while we were there. Then the last photos were of Victoria B.C. We did not get off the boat for this stop. Then the rest of the photos were of Seattle again. This was the last day of our vacation. We went to the top of the Needle and that was neat. We saw the Blue Angles practicing some stunts while we were on the top. Our tax dollars at work. By watching them, they do not get paid enough, whatever that is. They are real good. And off in the distance that is the volcano Mt. Rainier. It is 14,410 feet above sea level. It's most recent eruption was about 1,000 years ago. Ok, that is about it.
